The theme of the piece is time distortion. The process started by creating a 20 minute version sampling each of the 24 pieces at random with pitch and speed alternations. Then these pieces were sorted into a 5 sub-pieces and resampled; this is the first part of the piece. Then the 20-minute composition was reorganized from loudest to quietest segments and the remaining 24 hours were resampled from the quieter part of that audio slice. Time-based effects were applied in stereo to further distort time and space. Lastly, the samples play at a rate that trends downward over time. The entire piece was programmed in ChucK, a digital audio processing language.
While rendering the final file, an error terminated the process at the 3hr43m21s mark. The resulting truncated piece is presented here in its entirety. Too big for bandcamp to accept as a single file it has been split into two parts.
